The Maldives on Tuesday recorded 21 new cases of COVID-19.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), the new cases are of 12 Maldivians and 9 foreigners. This brings the total number of positive cases to 2,238.
HPA also announced 16 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,829. The number of active cases is 396.
43,998 samples have been tested for COVID-19 thus far out of which 1,168 samples were tested over the past 24 hours. The archipelago has recorded 8 COVID-19 related fatalities to date.
Authorities said 318 individuals are currently at isolation facilitiies while 140 individuals are at quarantine facilitiies.
