The Maldives recorded its 10th COVID19 death late Wednesday.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said a 92-year-old Maldivian male admitted at DH11 passed away at 11:54 pm.
Four elderly locals, four Bangladeshi nationals and a Filipino are among those who passed away from the illness in the Maldives. While over 100 days have passed since the first case of infection was detected in the Maldives, 2,382 have tested positive for the virus to date. The strict preventive measures in the Maldives are being relaxed in phases, and a new phase began on July 1. The country is scheduled to reopen its borders on July 15.
