The Maldives on Monday recorded 13 new cases of COVID-19.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), the new cases are of 5 Maldivians and 7 foreigners. This brings the total number of positive cases to 2,337.
HPA also announced 16 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,927. The number of active cases is 397, and 11 patients have been hospitalized.
HPA earlier on Monday revealed three patients at Tree Top Hospital who are in critical condition have been shifted to DH11 facility Dharumavantha Hospital for close monitoring and treatment. While their condition remains serious, two are on ventilator support, said HPA.
49,338 samples have been tested for COVID-19 thus far, out of which 735 samples were tested over the past 24 hours. The archipelago has recorded 8 COVID-19 related fatalities to date.
Authorities said 303 individuals are currently at isolation facilities while 132 individuals are at quarantine facilities.
