The Maldives on Thursday recorded 17 new cases of COVID-19.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), the new cases are of 7 Maldivians and 10 foreigners. This brings the total number of positive cases to 2,277.
HPA also announced 9 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,848. The number of active cases is 416.
46,182 samples have been tested for COVID-19 thus far. The archipelago has recorded 8 COVID-19 related fatalities to date.
Authorities said 315 individuals are currently at isolation facilities while 219 individuals are at quarantine facilities.
