The Maldives on Wednesday recorded 21 new cases of COVID-19.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), the new cases are of 3 Maldivians and 18 foreigners. This brings the total number of positive cases to 2,382.
HPA also announced 10 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,954. The number of active cases is 414. The archipelago has recorded 9 COVID-19 deaths to date.
51,576 samples have been tested for COVID-19 thus far, out of which 1,240 samples were tested over the past 24 hours. Authorities said 284 individuals are currently at isolation facilities while 132 individuals are at quarantine facilities.
