Agreements signed for development of neighbourhood fish factories

Contract agreements for the development of neighbourhood fish factories in southernmost Addu City were signed this week.

The neighbourhood fish factories in Maradhoo and Hulhumeedhoo of Addu City are being developed with the assistance of the Indian government.

The agreements were signed in a ceremony held at Addu City Council, which was virtually attended by Foreign Secretary Abdul Ghafoor Mohamed and Indian Ambassador to the Maldives, Sanjay Sudir. The development of the Maradhoo fish factory was contracted to Trident Private Limited while the Hulhumeedhoo factory’s development was awarded to Macho Private Limited.
