PCR testing services for travelers available at five hospitals

The Health Protection Agency, HPA has made arrangements for travelers to get tested for COVID-19 at five different hospitals.

HPA said departing tourists and those leaving the Maldives for various reasons can get their PCR tests done in capital Male’ at state-run IGMH, private hospital ADK, and Treetop Hospital in suburbs, Hulhumale. Testing facilities are also available at Kulhuduffushi Regional Hospital in Hdh. atoll and Addu Equitorial Hospital in southernmost Addu City.

ADK Hospital provides the service for MVR 1500 while IGMH, Kulhuffushi Regional Hospital, and Addu Equitorial hospital provides the service for MVR 1,534. Treetop Hospital charges MVR 2,000 for PCR testing.

HPA said the samples much reach the lab 48 hours prior to departure time in order to receive the results in time. Travel itinerary copy and other documents requested by the testing lab must be provided.
