Over 56 percent of people who tested positive for COVID-19 in GDh. Hoadedhdhoo have recovered from the illness.
Apart from epicentre capital Male’, Hoadedhdhoo is the second COVID-19 hotspot with 44 cases recorded in the small island.
Speaking at the Health Emergency Operations Centre (HEOC)’s press conference held Saturday, the centre’s spokesperson, Dr. Nazla Rafeeq said 21 recoveries were recorded in Hoadhedhdhoo on Friday. Four recoveries were recorded earlier. Therefore, the total number of recoveries recorded in Hoadedhdhoo is now at 25.
Two elderly people aged 80 and 64 have been transferred to Ga. Villingili COVID Management Facility, she added.
Dr. Nazla said 230 people linked to positive cases have been identified through contact tracing. Efforts are underway to have them tested.
Hoadedhdhoo has a population of 1,300 people. Authorities are still attempting to learn how the initial infection reached the island.
