A new guest house has been opened in local island K Maafushi.
The newly opened guesthouse is the largest guesthouse to be opened in the Maldives to date. ‘Kaani Palm Beach’ guesthouse was opened by Tourism Minister, Dr. Abdulla Mausoom on Thursday following a ceremony held to recommence guesthouse services in Maldives after ceasing operation earlier in July due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
‘Kaani Palm Beach’ is an investment of US$ 4 million. The 12-storey guest house boasts 253 beds, in addition to an inficility pool, spa and sports avenues. The guesthouse also has an event hall that can host up to 130 people.
Maafushi is the most popular local tourism destination, both among locals and foreigners. 1,627 guesthouses are operated on the island.
