Police seek public assistance in investigating suspicious death

The police have requested public assistance in investigating a death after a dead body was discovered in the sea area near Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.

The police said it could not determine if the 31 year old discovered dead had died of natural causes. The body is currently at the mortuary, and a postmortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death, said the police.

In an announcement issued on Friday, the police sought public assistance in investigating the death, and requested those who had been present at the Ransfannu Beach Area between 9am and 12pm on Thursday, and those who have any information on the man’s death to contact the police. The police asked any person with information to contact the police via emergency number 119 or 9911099.

Family members of the deceased have reported huge injuries on the dead person's body. The family has requested authorities to investigate the death.
