Maldives has been listed as a ‘safe’ country for travel in a list compiled by the Qatar government.
The Qatari government added the Maldives to its green list of 48 countries on October 22. This is the first time since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic that the Maldives has been added to the list.
Several high-end tourists from Qatar frequent to the Maldives, and the perks of having been listed in the green list will likely increase tourism arrivals from Qatar. Those who travel to countries in the list are not required to quarantine themselves at state designated hotels for two weeks upon their return, and will instead have the opportunity to complete quarantine at their homes.
The Maldives has also been listed among the countries deemed safe for travel by the United Kingdom.
