Business hours extended following improvement in COVID-19 situation

Changes have been brought to business hours during which cafes, restaurants and shops are allowed to operate.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) earlier restricted the business hours as a precautionary measure against COVID-19. While the situation in the Greater Male’ Region has improved significantly, HPA has made the decision to extend business hours while also shortening curfew hours.

In this regard, the curfew imposed in the Greater Male’ Region will now be in place only between 0000hrs and 0400hrs. Cafes and restaurants can serve customers from 0430hrs until 2330hrs while shops can operate from 0500hrs to 2300hrs. However, HPA’s guidelines must be followed in operating the premises, said HPA

The Maldives’ COVID-19 tally is now nearing 12,000 with 39 deaths recorded to date. 850 cases are currently active.
