Malaysia has made arrangements for those traveling from Maldives to Malaysia to pay their quarantine fees online.
The Maldives’ High Commission in Malaysia said the fees that have to be paid by those traveling to Malaysia, for COVID-19 testing and quarantine can be paid online effective from November 15. The payment must be made prior to traveling, and the payment receipt must be shown to airport officials upon arrival at Malaysia, said the High Commission.
A large number of Maldivians live in Malaysia for education and work purposes. Students in Malaysia have previously requested to intervene on their behalf over the high amounts charged as quarantine fees.
