The ‘Drug Offender Remand Center’ will be established in K. Gulhifalhu, the Gender Ministry has announced.
The Gender Ministry said that minister of Gender , Family and Social Services, Aishath Mohamed Didi has confirmed that the drug offender remand center required to be established under the Drug Act will be established in the reclaimed area, Gulhifalhu.
While work is underway to establish the remand center, the ministry said the center will be operated under the necessary procedures, and after the necessary resources and services are established at the center.
The center will provide treatment to those arrested for using and peddling drugs during their remand period.
