The internal elections of ruling coalition partner, Adhaalath Party has been scheduled for January 23.
An announcement issued by the religiously conservative party on New Year’s Day said the party’s President and Deputy President for its third term will be elected during their ‘Presidential Election’ as per the party’s Charter.
Those who wish to compete in the election are instructed to submit their application forms along with other required documents by 1400hrs on January 9.
Adhaalath Party’s membership size is less than the minimum membership requirement to qualify for state funding. The party’s activities have remained stagnant over the past months.
The current president of Adhaalath Party is Home Minister Imran Abdulla.
