The development of the water and sewerage systems of R. Kinolhas have officially kicked off.
Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) said all pipes and other equipment needed to establish the sewerage system have been transported to the island. While the sewer lines are ready to be buried under the streets, 52 percent of work related to the construction of the building which would hold the water plant has reached completion.
While a 11.8 kilometer long main water line will be established, the construction of the RO facility building and the installation of RO plants, and the installation of two 200 tonne water tanks as well as the installation of water meters and meter connection will be provided to households under the project.
