Over 200,000 samples have been tested for COVID-19 by state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) to date.

The main government hospital said the hospital began COVID-19 testing when the first cases of the virus were detected in the Maldives, and that 203,450 samples have been tested at the hospital to date. IGMH was the first facility at which testing took place.

While 316 days have passed since the Maldives registered its first COVID-19 case, a total of 362,891 samples have been tested across different facilities. The facilities which carry out testing include privately-run ADK Hospital, Tree Top Hospital as well as five regional hospitals across Maldives.
