An inmate at Hulhumale’ Prison has tested positive for COVID-19.
Maldives Correctional Service said a 56 year old inmate at Hulhumale’ Prison tested positive for COVID-19. While the inmate has now been transferred to a quarantine facility, the jail has been put lock down while contact tracing is ongoing.
The Maldives recorded a record number of positive cases over the past 24 hours. 215 positive cases were recorded on Monday, with 159 cases registered in the Greater Male’ Region.
