Parliament approves non-resident ambassadors to 13 countries

The Parliament has approved non-resident ambassadors for 13 countries.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih sent the names for Parliament approval last week. The appointments were approved by the Parliament during its sitting held Monday.

As per the parliament approval, Maldivian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mohamed Khaleel will be appointed as the non-resident ambassafor to the state of Palestine. This is the first time the Maldives has appointed an ambassador to Palestine.

Other non-resident appointments approved by the parliament include ambassadors to Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Australia, South Africa, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Italy, Turkey, Austria, Egypt and New Zealand.
