The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) is preparing to carry out a survey to assess the changes in income and expenses of households due to COVID-19.
The ‘Rapid Assessment of the Impact of COVID-19 on Household Income and Expenditure in Maldives’ will be carried out as an extension of a similar survey carried out by NBS last year on income and expenditure.
A pre-test of the survey will be carried out on Tuesday via telephone between 08:30 am and 02:30 pm. The survey will be carried out for randomly selected households in Male’ and the atolls. The survey questionnaire will be finalized after the pretest and the survey will begin on March 17. 600 households will be contacted via telephone to collect information.
