India’s Vistara Airline has commenced operation to the Maldives.
The Maldives welcomed the airlines’ first flight on Wednesday afternoon at Velana International Airport. The airlines’ Airbus A320 flight arrived from Mumbai carrying 164 passengers.
The airline will be conducting three weekly flights to the Maldives under the air travel bubble agreement between Maldives and India. Vistara Airline becomes the fifth Indian airline currently operating to the Maldives.
Vistara is an Indian full-service airline based in Gurgaon, with its hub at Indira Gandhi International Airport. The carrier, a joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, commenced operations on 9 January 2015.
