Maldives Immigration has announced that Maldivian citizens and work visa holders traveling to the Maldives from India are required to undergo mandatory home quarantine.
According to Maldives Immigration, all arrivals except those arriving under tourists visas have to undergo mandatory home quarantine for ten days in their place of residence or work even if they are vaccinated. The decision comes while India is recording a record number of daily infections. The change is effective from 22nd April.
Many have voiced concern regarding the decision to allow those arriving on tourist visas to skip quarantine despite the situation in India being extremely dire.
