The dead body discovered on Saturday on the beach of K. Dhiffushi has been identified as a person completing home quarantine at a guest house on the island, Maldives Police Service has said.
According to Maldives Police Service, the 23-year old man of Indian nationality was completing a mandatory 10-day quarantine at a local guest house since April 19. His quarantine period would have ended on April 29.
The body was discovered in the water near Dhiffushi Ice plant on Saturday afternoon around 1:15 pm. While the body has since been transferred to Male', no physical injuries were visible on the body. The police is investigating the case further.
