Congregational prayers suspended in Addu City

Congregational Prayers have been suspended in Addu City.

The Islamic Ministry Saturday said congregational prayers will be stopped in Addu city mosques effective from May 15 due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases being reported from the city. While 98 cases have been reported from Addu City, 15 new cases were identified over the past 24 hours.

Travel restrictions were imposed on Addu City earlier on May 1st due to the increasing number of positive cases. Since then, a 10-hour curfew has been announced from 06:00 pm to 04:00 am. Travel between districts of the city as well as visits to other households have been prohibited.
