Congregational prayers will be resumed in mosques in Greater Male' Area before Friday, the Islamic Ministry has said.
An official from the ministry said although an exact date has not yet been decided, congregational prayers are expected to resume before July 2. However, social distancing measures must still be practiced during prayers, said the ministry.
The Islamic Ministry closed mosques in the Greater Male' Region for a second time on May 19th, following an alarming surge in COVID-19 infections. While the daily number of positive cases in the capital has declined significantly, authorities have been granting eases to restrictions.
