The curfew imposed in the Greater Male' Region will be shortened further, the government has announced.
During a press conference held at the President's Office on Tuesday, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said the daily number of positive cases has declined significantly, improving the country's overall situation. Therefore, additional eases will be granted from July 1st onward, said the president.
In this regard, the curfew hours will be scaled back to be in effect from 08:00 pm until 04:00 am instead of from 06:00 pm to 04:00 am. Congregational prayers will be resumed in Male' City mosques, although with social distancing measures in place. All businesses can also provide services by opening their establishments during non-curfew hours.
