Nurses and doctors have been dispatched to R. Dhuvaafaru from the atoll's regional hospital.

Dhuvaafaru island has been under the Health Protection Agency (HPA)'s monitoring status since May 25. While over 500 positive cases have been identified from the island thus far, four COVID-19 deaths have been recorded on the island. The island's residents have accused that the COVID-19 situation on the island is mismanaged and has staged protests saying negligence led to the most recent death recorded from the island. 145 cases are active on the island at this time.
