The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has said 655 positive cases of COVID-19 were recorded over the past week.
HPA stopped announcing the number of daily cases when President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih lifted the state of Public Health Emergency announced in the Maldives last month. Since then, the agency has been reporting weekly data on positive cases.
The most recent figures show that 655 cases were recorded between April 3 and April 9. While 91 cases were recorded in the Greater Male' Region, 482 cases were from the atolls. The sample positivity rate in the Male' area is eleven percent, while it is at 89 percent in the atolls.
No deaths were recorded in the duration.
The Maldives has recorded 178,313 COVID-10 cases and 298 deaths to date.
