COVID-19: Eight new cases in Kulhudhuffushi, tally at 42

Eight new cases of COVID-19 have been identified from Kulhudhuffushi city.

Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital said from the 8 cases identified on Saturday, two were random samples. While the total number of confirmed cases is currently at 42, the results of 94 samples from the past two days are still pending, the hospital said.

"As the number of positive cases has increased and as random samples have tested positive, we urge the public to practice precautionary measures, especially wearing masks, minimizing contact with others, and frequently washing hands with soap and practicing other hygienic measures," the hospital said.

The hospital also called on those in quarantine to obey the quarantine guidelines and to get immediately tested if any symptoms of COVID-19 are exhibited.
