Indian national who attacked driver remanded in custody

An Indian national who attacked a taxi driver in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale' has been remanded in custody for ten days.

The foreigner, who was under the influence attacked Pick and Drop taxi driver, Mohamed Ibrahim Monday night by using his t-shirt to strangle the driver. The police identified the suspect as a 25-year old Indian national. He was arrested near the scene of the crime late Monday night. The police confirmed the man has been remanded in custody for ten days.

The driver who was assaulted is doing well, the police said.
