New COVID-19 death in Addu City

A COVID-19 death was recorded in southernmost Addu City on Friday.

According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), a 97-year-old local male admitted at Addu City's Equatorial Hospital Covid Facility passed away at 7:50 am on Friday morning. This is the fourth COVID-19 death in Addu City, and the 233rd COVID-19 death in the Maldives.

Addu City has recorded 1,590 COVID-19 cases to date. The situation in Addu City still remains dire, with 241 cases still active. 14 cases were recorded in the city over the past 24 hours - 7 cases in Hithadhoo and 7 in Feydhoo. Six COVID-19 patients are admitted at the hospital at this time.
