Maldives' COVID-19 toll increases to 257

The Maldives on Saturday recorded an additional COVID-19 death.

According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), an 83-year-old local male receiving treatment at Addu COVID Management Facility passed away early Saturday at 3:00 am. This is the 13th COVID death in the southernmost city and the 257th death in the Maldives.

From among the atolls, Addu City's COVID-19 situation is currently the worst. While 110 cases are active in Hithadhoo, 14 are active in Hulhudhoo, and 13 in Maradhoo. Twelve cases are active in Meedhoo and another four in Maradhoo Feydhoo. The total number of active cases in Addu is 154.
