COVID-19: Fourth case recorded in Addu city

A fourth case of COVID-19 has been registered in Hithadhoo island of southernmost Addu city.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said a 21-year old local female who completed home quarantine in Hithadhoo island tested positive for the virus on Tuesday.

The first person to test positive in Addu city was a man in home quarantine in S. Feydhoo. After that, a 38 year old foreigner tested positive in Hithadhoo. A 58 year old local woman also tested positive in Hithadhoo on August 9.

The Maldives has registered over 5000 positive cases of COVID-19 thus far, while 20 people have succumbed to the illness.
