The Planning Ministry has given an update on the progress of K. Dhiffushi Land Reclamation project.
During Wednesday's Parliament sitting, Thuludhoo MP Ibrahim Naseem asked the minister regarding delays in awarding the project to a party.
In his response, the minister said MVR one million was allocated for the project in this year's budget, and the ministry initially planned to award the project to a contractor during the third quarter. However, the arrangements could not be made in time, he said.
Further noting that local tourism is lucrative in Dhiffushi, the minister said the administration intends to develop the island in such a way that local tourism can be further evolved.
