The police have made an arrest in connection to the murder of Mahmood Aboobakuru in ADh. Dhangethi.
Mahmood, 57, was found murdered inside a well in an abandoned house in Dhangethi on Friday afternoon. The police had been searching for him since Friday morning after his family reported him as missing after he failed to return home on Thursday night.
The police confirmed that a foreigner was arrested under a court order in relation to the murder. He was arrested as he was a person of interest, said the police. He worked as a caretaker of an elderly person in a house near where Mahmood's body was found.
Earlier on Friday, three people were given police protection after the people of Dhangethi handed over two individuals who they suspect to be connected to the murder. The third individual under police protection is a woman linked to the two men.
