Islamic Ministry's PS dismissed from post

Islamic Ministry's Permanent Secretary, Haseeb Ismail has been dismissed from the post. The Civil Service Commission said he was dismissed from the post on September 22.

Islamic Minister, Dr. Ahmed Zahir requested the Civil Service Commission to dismiss Haseeb earlier January this year, citing inappropriate interactions with other employees at the ministry. Haseeb was known to intimidate other staff. However, after investigating the issue, the commission initially said there was no reason to dismiss Haseeb. He was later suspended for a long period, and was asked not to return to work on August 15.

Haseeb was appointed as Islamic Ministry's Permanent Secretary in November 2019.
