Ambulances have been sent to 20 islands in the atolls.
The Health Ministry sent the ambulances to the islands on Saturday. The ambulances purchased through the State Trading Organization (STO) were delivered to recipient islands by the company.
The ambulances were sent to Ha. Uligan, Ha. Filladhoo, HDh. Makunudhoo, HDh Nolhivaram, Sh. Foakaidhoo, N. Miladhoo, N. Hen'badhoo, R. Inguraidhoo, Lh. Kurendhoo, B. Thylaadhoo, K. Huraa, ADh. Dhangethi, F. Bileddhoo, Th. Madifushi, L. Maamendhoo, Ga. Gemanafushi, Sh. Maroshi, Th. Gaadhiffushi, B. Kudarikilu, and Aa. Thoddoo.
The government will purchase 96 ambulances under the agreement with STO signed in June this year. The 20 ambulances that were received are part of the first shipment under the contract.
