Authorities seize 18 kg of drugs from a Brazilian national who entered the country.
According to Maldives Customs Service, the 28-year-old man arrived in the Maldives on November 2. The drugs were discovered after Customs officials identified suspicious behavior exhibited by the man and checked his luggage. The 18.857 kg of substance found in his luggage tested positive for cocaine.
The street value of the drugs is MVR 94 million, Customs said. The man and the drugs are now in police custody.
