Drugs worth MVR 200,000 have been seized from a person arriving in the Maldives.
Customs said the 26-year old man arrived at the archipelago on February 9, and that pills that were suspected of being drugs were found in his luggage upon searching. The pills tested positive to Amphetamine / Yaba upon initial testing.
While 1932 bills were found in the man's luggage, the street value of the drugs is MVR 193,200, said customs.
The drugs, and the person attempting to smuggle them in have been handed over to the police.
