VP Faisal travels to Komandoo constituency for campaigning

Vice President Faisal Naseem has traveled to Sh. Foakaidhoo to campaign for main-ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)'s Komanodoo by-election candidate Mohamed Raashid.

The Komandoo parliamentary seat became vacant with the death of MP Hussain Waheed on December 14, 2021. While the Elections Commission has scheduled the constituency's by-election for February 5, three candidates will be contesting against each other in the election. They are Mohamed Rashid from MDP, Moosa Fathuhee from the opposing Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM), and Abdul Hannan Idris from the newly formed Maldives National Party (MNP). All three parties are carrying out competitive campaigns in full swing.

VP Faisal is accompanied by MDP's Chairperson Hassan Latheef and several parliamentarians. Upon his arrival at Foakaidhoo, he received a warm welcome from the island's residents.

Following the Vice President's visit to Sh. Foakaidhoo, he will travel to Maroshi island and Komandoo island. All three islands are within the Komandoo constituency.
