The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has made arrangements such that civil servants who test positive for COVID-19 and direct contacts in quarantine can work from home.
A circular released by CSC on Monday said the arrangement was made as the commission was instructed to accommodate civil servants in quarantine and isolation.
As per the latest guidelines issued by the Health Protection Agency (HPA), those who test positive for COVID-19 and do not exhibit any symptoms of the illness must be in quarantine for seven days from the date of testing. If any symptoms are exhibited, their quarantine will end if symptoms stop for at least 24 hours in addition to the completion of the 7-day quarantine.
Fully vaccinated individuals who were exposed to COVID-19 as a direct contact must complete a 10-day quarantine. Those who are not vaccinated will need to remain in quarantine for four additional days.
The Maldives is experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases with the detection of the Omicron variant. Over the past 24 hours, the Maldives recorded 120 new cases, increasing the country's tally to 103,582.
