The number of COVID-19 cases in southernmost Addu City has risen above 700.
According to Addu Emergency Operation Centre, 776 cases are active in the city at this time. This is the highest number of active cases reported from the city to date. While 355 cases are active in Hithadhoo, 133 cases are in Feydhoo. A further 124 cases are positive in Meedhoo, while 65 cases have been reported from Hulhumeedhoo. In Maradhoo, 55 cases are active while 25 cases are active in Maradhoo Feydhoo.
Over the past 24 hours, 81 positive cases were reported from Addu. Fifteen deaths have been reported from the city to date.
From among islands with a large population, the COVID-19 situation in GDh. Thinadhoo is also worsening. While 343 cases are active in the islands, 77 cases were reported over the past 24 hours. Five deaths have been recorded on the island.
COVID-19 is also spreading rapidly in Fuvahmulah City. While 347 cases are active, 66 cases were reported over the past 24 hours.
