Pres Solih departs on three-day visit to Lhaviyani Atoll

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Friday afternoon left for a three-day, six-island visit to Lhaviyani Atoll. As part of the visit, he would make stops in Madivaru, Hinnavaru, Felivaru, Naifaru, Olhuvelifushi, and Kurendhoo Islands.

During the visit, President Solih would meet with community leaders, including members of the atoll council, local councils, women’s development committees, and management and staff of public offices and residents of the respective islands. He would also assess the progress of developmental projects underway in the islands and officially inaugurate the newly developed airport on Madivaru Island.

The President is accompanied on the trip by a high-level delegation from the government. He is scheduled to conclude the trip and return to Malé on February 20, 2022.
