Over 800 applications have been received for the higher education student loan program.
The Higher Education Ministry opened applications for the Higher Education Loan Scheme 2022 on February 7.
In a tweet published on Tuesday, Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim Hassan said almost 800 applications had been received for the loan scheme thus far. He reminded that the application for the loan scheme would close at 1330 hours on March 3.
Under the Higher Education Loan Scheme, the government will be issuing student loans to 720 students. This includes 417 students who are newly starting their higher education and 303 current students.
Last year, the government issued student loans to 1,500 students. The government also delayed repayment for loans due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
