Three suspects arrested in connection to 12 kilograms of drugs seized by the police have been remanded in custody.
Maldives Police Service said a Maldivian, Bangladeshi and Indian national were arrested by the police in an operation carried out at sea. The police said the Indian national has a record of drug-related offenses.
The suspects were presented to the Criminal Court to decide on their remand on Tuesday. The Court ordered the Maldivian to be remanded in custody for ten days and the two foreigners for 15 days.
The police are investigating the case.
