Old Jamaluddin demolition contracted for MVR 2.9 mln

The demolition of the old Jamaluddin School building has been contracted to Well Trading Private Limited.

After Arabiyya School building in Male' City was deemed unsafe due to structural damages, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih announced the administration's decision to develop a new building for the school on the land plot of the old Jamaluddin School.

On Wednesday, an agreement was signed between the Education Ministry and Well Trading Private Limited to demolish the building currently standing at the old Jamaluddin plot, for MVR 2.9 million. The agreement states that the demolition work must be completed within 75 days.

Arabiyya School is currently run at the old Foreign Ministry building. The Education Ministry previously said the new school building at the Jamaluddin plot would begin this year and reach completion next year.
