Arabiyya School building contract cancelled

The contract for the construction of the new Arabiyya School building has been cancelled due to the high cost of the work.

The construction of the new school building was awarded to Amin Construction in September 2022. The ministry said the contract has now been cancelled after failed negotiations to reduce the project’s price.

The new building of the Arabiyya School was originally planned to be constructed on the old Jamaluddin School site. The school’s location has since been changed to the old Male’ landfill site, and the foundation stone of the school was laid on February 24 this year.
