Kurendhoo mosque construction handed over to contractor

The construction of a mosque in Lh. Kurendhoo has been contracted to Mims Construction Private Limited.

The project agreement was signed between the contractor and the Islamic Ministry at a ceremony held on Wednesday. Islamic Minister Dr. Ahmed Zahir signed the agreement on behalf of the government, and the Managing Director of MIMS Construction, Saudullah Hilmy, signed the agreement on behalf of the contractor.

The mosque project is valued at MVR 14 million. The agreement states that the mosque must be completed and handed over to the government within 360 days. The contractor has assured that the project will reach completion within the given timeframe.

Kurendhoo island has a population of over 2,000 people. The new mosque can accommodate 700 people.
