The national airline, Maldivian, will be scheduling special flights to Malaysia to coincide with the upcoming Eid holidays.
According to Maldivian, 200 tickets will be sold for the special trips, with return tickets costing USD 399. The flights are scheduled for July 8, 15, 22, and 29 July.
Special arrangements have been made for those who wish to travel to the Maldives and back during the holiday period. The return ticket for this route will cost USD 363.
Maldivian also operated a special flight to Malaysia during the Fitr Eid holidays. Return tickets were sold for USD 399 during the promotion.
The Malaysian border was reopened on April 1 after being closed for months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Travelers are not required to quarantine if all doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been completed.
After India and Sri Lanka, the most number of Maldivian nationals reside in Malaysia.
