Bangkok Airways to resume operation to the Maldives

Thailand's Bangkok Airways will be resuming flights to the Maldives.

Bangkok Airways used to operate four flights a week from Bangkok to the Maldives until they were suspended in March 2020 due to COVID-19.

Bangkok Airways is scheduled to resume flights from Bangkok's Sunabami International Airport to Velana International Airport (VIA) on July 22. The flights are scheduled to operate on Tuesdays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Thai AirAsia also operates flights between the Maldives and Bangkok, Thailand. The flights, which began on December 22 last year, are operated twice a week.

Bangkok Airways tickets to Thailand typically cost over USD 500.

While Thailand has now reopened after the COVID-19 pandemic, those who have completed COVID-19 vaccination are not required to be quarantined upon arrival.
